Dear Friends of Hanson Park Conservancy\,
\nPlease h
elp HPC honor those we’ve lost to COVID-19 by contributing to a Memorial B
ench.
\nCOVID-19 has taken the lives of over 150 residents of Cranfor
d. HPC would like to honor those lives by placing a Memorial Bench next to
the Butterfly Garden –– a beautiful and serene place for remembrance and
reflection.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to this memorial. Please contribute any dollar amount that you wish towards t his memorial\, which remembers our fellow residents. The bench is expected to be installed later this year and will include a plaque in tribute to t hose we’ve lost.
\nThe unique Hanson Park benches are hand-made by a
craftsman in upstate New York. They were chosen as part of the original d
esign which envisioned a passive environmentally sensitive park along the
Rahway River.
\nTax-exempt contributions can be made by mailing a che
ck directly to HPC PO Box 542\, Cranford\, NJ 07016\, visiting our website
at www.hansonparkconservancy.com\, or t
hrough our Facebook page.
We’d like to thank the entire community
of Cranford for always supporting HPC.
\nFeel free to visit the park
at 38 Springfield Avenue\, Cranford\, NJ. Details on the bench installatio
n will be provided at a later date.
Food and craft vendors will fill the do wntown streets between 11 and 5. Musical performance and more will als o be available. Spots are still available for vendors. For more informatio n email info@streetfairs.org.
\n\n\nWe will still be holding our 10th annual Rubber Ducky Race on October 10th\, but this ye ar\, the Ducks are on us!
\nWith the recent flooding event that impacted our community\, our famous r ubber ducks will NOT be for sale. Instead\, they will be available for adoption\, free of charge. We hope that our Rubber Ducky Rac e will provide some much-needed and well-deserved reprieve from the hardsh ips that our town has suffered.
\nDucks can be adopted and picked up from Periwinkles Fine Gifts (19 N . Union Ave\, Cranford). Individuals can adopt a single duck\, and familie s can adopt a Family Flock of Five.
\nUnfortunately\, Hanson Park itself was hit hard by Hurricane Ida. If you’d like to help\, please consider ordering a Rubber Ducky Race T-Sh irt or providing a donation to HPC for the replacement of bushes\, ongoing maintenance\, and continued beautification of the park. All donations are gratefully accepted.
