Friends of the Performing Arts is thrilled to be sponsoring the first-ever Cranford Film Festival. The festival\, which will run from Sat \, April 17th – Sun\, April 25th\, features a collec tion of 50 short films from around the world in the categories of fiction\ , documentary\, animation\, music videos\, and student films. Two nights w ill be dedicated to NJ-based selections\, among them 7 Cranford-based film makers’ works!
\nDue to COVID\, the festi val will take place virtually so you can watch all the films from the comf ort of your own home! A full schedule of the films and festival passes ($2 5 – which allows viewing of all the festival films throughout the week) ca n be found on the festival website www.cranfordfilmfestival.org.
\nAll proceeds will go towards supporting our schools’ perf orming arts programs!
\n\nThe Cranford Town-Wide Garage Sale is scheduled for Saturday\, April 10\, 202 1\, from 9 AM to 4 PM\, rain or shine. All garage sale hosts are required to follow the current health guidelines regarding masks and social distanc ing.
\nAll registered garage sale hosts will have their add ress and highlights of what they are selling included on the TOWN-WIDE GAR AGE SALE participating homes list that will be published on Friday\, April 9 on both our website and Facebook page. No names are included in the lis ting.
\nThe registration fee is $25. All proceeds from this event go to Project Homes’s mission of helping families remain in the com munity by working through Cranford Family Care to distribute funds to thos e in need.
\nOnline registration will be open until April 6 \, 2021. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by April 2\, 2021. A com pleted registration form and a $25 check made payable to Project Home of C ranford should be sent to P.O Box 724 Cranford NJ 07016.

\n\n\nCranford United Methodist Church will host its next Drive- Thru Food Collection event on Saturday\, May 8th from 10 am to 2 pm in the church’s parking lot. Many of our neighbors are still struggling to keep food on the table.
\nPlace your bags of non-perishable food in your trunk\, drive up\, pop your trunk and volunteers will remove them\, no con tact needed! Your food donations will be delivered to Cranford Family Care \, St. Joseph’s Social Services\, and other local organizations serving fa milies in need.
\nThe church’s parking lot is next to the Cranford L ibrary\, 201 Lincoln Ave East.
\nHere are examples of especially nee ded items: Cooking oil\, tuna\, boxed milk\, spices\, salt\, pepper\, tea and coffee\, sugar\, flour\, crackers\, soup\, cereal\, canned vegetables\ , rice (one or two pounds)\, cake mix\, and frosting\, dish detergent\, so ap and paper goods.
\nAlso needed: fresh produce\, for example\, app les\, onions\, potatoes\, and other hardy fresh produce.
\nCan’t mak e that date? There are bins placed outside the entrance to the church off of the parking lot where donations can be dropped any time\, 24/7.
\nLast month\, several vans full to the brim with food were delivered to Cr anford Family Care and St. Joseph’s and we thank you for helping make it h appen!
