Literary Café is a book chat program. The format is simple: Bring a few of your recent f avorite books and tell the other members of the group what you like about them. \nMuch like Coffee with a Cop\, the purpose of “Meet The Department” is to host meet-and-greet sessions with the specific division s\, bureaus\, and units that make up the Cranford Police Department. As th e police department consists of a Patrol Division\, Investigative Division \, Training Division\, Community Support Services Division\, Detective Bur eau\, Traffic Bureau\, Juvenile Bureau and Community Outreach Unit\, “Meet The Department” will be scheduled throughout the calendar year at the Cra nford Community Center so residents may address questions or concerns with specific division commanders\, bureau supervisors and their respective te ams.

O n Saturday\, April 23rd\, the Cranford Historical Society will host a spec ial event for Kummer to present his findings and discuss this strange chap ter in local history.

\nJoin OMNY Taiko for an interactive Taiko performance! Tai ko (太鼓\, literally “big drum”) is a type of Japanese percussion that has b een played for well over 1\,000 years. Traditionally\, taiko were used in religious ceremonies\, festivals\, and as theatrical accompaniment. Kumi-d aiko\, or ensemble drumming\, was created in the 1950s. In kumi-daiko\, ma ny drummers play different-sized drums to create complex rhythms and styli zed performances. This style of taiko drumming has become extremely popula r and taiko groups have formed all across the world.
