\nClasses are available for beginners through experienced swimmers o f all ages. The YMCA youth swim lesson program helps foster a sense of ac hievement as each swimmer progresses\, resulting in more confident swimmer s who stick with lessons and develop a love for swimming. tral Art Studio\, with support from the Cranford Jaycees\, will host the 2
021 Great Pumpkin Carve Out on Saturday\, October 23rd (Saturday\, October
30th rain date. For updates check www.jcas.org). All the activities will
take place at Hanson Park\, 38 Springfield Avenue in Cranford\, NJ. The pu
mpkin carving contest is a FREE event and is open
to all ages. Individuals can drop off their creatively carved pumpkins fro
m 10 am until 3 pm at Hanson Park at 38 Springfield Ave\, Cranford on Satu
rday\, October 23rd along with a completed registration form (also availab
le on-site).
\nEveryone is invited to come to Hanson Park starting at
6 pm-9 pm to stroll along the pumpkin-lighted garden paths to see the car
ved pumpkins on display\, each on its own pedestal. Cash awards will be gi
ven for funniest\, scariest\, and most original and will be grouped by age
s\; 4-8\, 9-16\, and 17 and up.
\nIn addition\, a big-screen outdoor

Cranford Walking Tour Inaugurates Historic QR Code Signs p>\n
On Sunday\, May 22 at 2 p.m.\, the Cranford Historic Preservation A dvisory Board (HPAB) will conduct a walking tour of historic sites with ne w QR (quick response) codes. The tour will also feature additional facts a bout the downtown and surrounding areas.
\nParticipants will meet in front of the First Baptist Church of Cranford at 100 High Street\, which is the first site on the tour. There is a suggested fee of $5\, payable in cash or check (made payable to Cranford Historic Preservation Advisory Bo ard or Cranford HPAB) to help fund its work.
\nHPAB is a volunteer a dvisory board appointed by the Cranford Township Committee. Its primary pu rpose is to help residents recognize the significance of noteworthy histor ic buildings\, steetscapes\, and districts to emphasize the importance of preserving these resources so they can be enjoyed by current and future ge nerations. \, children of all ages will be allowed to run through the water showers t
o cool off

This year\, we celebrate our 95th anniversary preserving and perpetuating the history of the township of Cranford. On Sunday\, September 18th\, from 1- 5 pm\, the Society will re-open the Crane-Phillips House Museum f or a tour with a FALL FESTIVAL outside. We will have crafters showing and selling their crafts and face painting\, balloon making and crafts for th e children. Dreyer Farms will be on hand selling their mums\, pumpkins\, bales of hay\, corn stalks\, pies and donuts. The Cranford Historical Soc iety will sell ice cream cones and ice cream sodas and will have garage sa le items\, used books and our merchandise for sale. We will also have a h istory basket raffle and a 50/50 chance.
\nThe society is looking fo r Crafters\, face painting artists\, balloon making artists and a band. A ll spaces are $20 and must bring your own table and chair. If you can par ticipate\, call or email us!

The Cranford Carve-Out is back for its 8th year on Saturday\, 10/22 at Hanson Park. Stroll along the pum pkin-lighted garden paths from 5:30-9 PM to see the amazing carved pumpkin s on display. Hosted by Jersey Central Art Studios (JCAS) with support fro m the Cranford Jaycees and the Hanson Park Conservancy. Rain date 10/29. p>\n
