tral Art Studio\, with support from the Cranford Jaycees\, will host the 2
021 Great Pumpkin Carve Out on Saturday\, October 23rd (Saturday\, October
30th rain date. For updates check www.jcas.org). All the activities will
take place at Hanson Park\, 38 Springfield Avenue in Cranford\, NJ. The pu
mpkin carving contest is a FREE event and is open
to all ages. Individuals can drop off their creatively carved pumpkins fro
m 10 am until 3 pm at Hanson Park at 38 Springfield Ave\, Cranford on Satu
rday\, October 23rd along with a completed registration form (also availab
le on-site).
\nEveryone is invited to come to Hanson Park starting at
6 pm-9 pm to stroll along the pumpkin-lighted garden paths to see the car
ved pumpkins on display\, each on its own pedestal. Cash awards will be gi
ven for funniest\, scariest\, and most original and will be grouped by age
s\; 4-8\, 9-16\, and 17 and up.
\nIn addition\, a big-screen outdoor
showing of a surprise favorite movie will start at dark. Bring your blanke
ts! The movie\, stroll\, and contest are all free\, and hot cider will be

turday\, March 12th from 10 am to 1 pm in the church’s parking lot.

Place your bags of non-perishabl e food in your trunk\, drive up\, pop your trunk and the girl scouts will remove them\, no contact needed! Your food donations will be delivered to Cranford Family Care\, St. Joseph’s Social Services\, and other local orga nizations serving families in need.

\nFrom earliest times Christians have gathered on the eve of the Pascha l/Easter Season to recall the story of God’s saving work\,from creation th rough to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Paschal Vigil marks the end of the emptiness of Lent and Holy Week\, and leads int o the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. The Vigil Liturgy contains fou r main parts: The lighting of the Paschal Candle\; hearing the great Hebre w stories of the faith\; the Liturgy of Initiation (Baptismed)\; and Holy Eucharist.

\nEaste r Sunday at Trinity is always a wonderful celebration\, don your Sunday be st and come and proclaim our risen\, conquering Lord! Did you know that as of March 1st\, NJ families who receiv e government funds for food (aka food stamps/SNAP) are receiving less mone y because pandemic funds have expired? \n\nYou will learn how to defend y ourself! This is hands-on seminar designed to provide women in the communi ty with the skills and mindset needed to defend themselves through a combi nation of preventative measures\, heightened awareness\, and practical han ds-on training in self-defense techniques. Among the topics to be taught: escapes from stranger and non-stranger attacks\, wrist release\, choke def ense\, strikes\, hair grabs and ground drags and how to get out from under an attacker. Participants will also practice yelling and learn how to set boundaries and assert themselves.
\nThe seminar will be led by Jen Pittman\, currently a Supervisory United States Probation Officer. She has received specialized training from the Federal Law Enforcement Training C enter in Charleston\, South Carolina\, and has instructed her fellow offic ers in defensive tactics and use of force since 2011. She is also a gradua te of the Gracie University Survival Tactics program and has been a Gracie certified instructor since 2019. Jen has previous training in various for ms of martial arts\, including Taekwondo\, Muay Thai Kickboxing\, Brazilia n Jiu-Jitsu\, Judo\, and Krav Maga. She is also a Black Belt.
\nThe seminar is hands-on and participants are must wear comfortable clothing. p>\n
The seminar will be held at THE MAX Challenge of Cranford\, 777 Wal nut Avenue\, Cranford\, New Jersey. Cost is $30 per person\; women ages 16 & up are welcome (under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult). Particip ants must register in advance. This is a WALKING tour\, so please arrive in appropriate attire for the hour-long t our. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Find y our marked time and line up as you wait for your tour to begin. Tour guide s will provide additional details upon arrival\, as needed. Stroller child ren 5 and under are FREE. Pets are not permitted on the tour. No smoking o r alcohol consumption is allowed on the tour. This is a walking tour about one mile in length.
