\n\nTrack Friday is a day of giving back by supporting local charities while burning off some Thanksgiving calories. On Friday\, Novemb er 26th\, Cranford residents are invited to run or walk at the Memorial Fi eld Track and participate in trackside workout sessions from Garden State Athletics and Alluem Yoga.
\nThis year we’ve added the inaugural Wil l DeGregorio Memorial Extra Mile\, a casual one mile run/walk honoring Wil l. A portion of this year’s proceeds will fund scholarships in Will’s name via the Cranford Police Athletic League.

its next Drive-Thru Food Collection event on Saturday\, March 12th from 10
am to 1 pm in the church’s parking lot.

Place your bags of non-perishable food in your trunk\, drive up\, pop your trunk and the girl scouts will remove them\, no contact nee ded! Your food donations will be delivered to Cranford Family Care\, St. J oseph’s Social Services\, and other local organizations serving families i n need.
\nHere are examples of especially needed items:

r towels\, toilet paper\, tissues.
\n-Hardy fresh produce like bags o
f apples\, onions\, and potatoes.
\n-Cooking oil\, tuna\, canned chic
ken\, shelf-stable milk\, spices\, salt\, pepper\, tea and coffee\, sugar\
, flour\, crackers\, soup\, cereal\, canned vegetables\, rice (one or two
pounds)\, lentils\, beans\, cake mix\, and frosting\, dish detergent\, soa
p\, laundry detergent\, toothbrushes\, and toothpaste.
Can’t make that date? There are bins placed outside the entrance to the church off of the parking lot where donations can be dropped any time\, 24/7.
\nI dea: Many of the younger girl scouts are setting out bins on their porches to make it convenient for neighbors to donate. Why not get your kids invo lved\, too? Set out your own bin and invite your neighbors to participate. Then drop off the donated items at the March 12th event.

Consider picking up a few extra groceries this week when you do your s hopping. Place the items in your trunk\, drive up\ , and volunteers will remove your groceries and bring them to Saint Joseph ’s social services in Elizabeth. Many families are still struggling to put food on the table. Let’s do this!
\n\nThe Cranford Police Department will celebrat e 125 years of service with an Anniversary Parade scheduled for Sunday\, O ctober 23rd\, 2022 at 12:30 PM.
\nThis “driving parade” will consist of emergency vehicles and specialized equipment from Local\, County\, Sta te\, and Federal Agencies. The parade route starts at 12:30 at Union Count y College and travels southbound on Springfield Avenue toward Downtown Cra nford. The parade will then turn right onto North Union Avenue\, cross Nor th Avenue\, and turn left into the Walnut Avenue entrance to the Train Sta tion parking lot.
\nOur Cranford Police Department does so much to k eep our community special. Let’s celebrate with them on this momentous occ asion!
