\n\nThe Union County Board of Co unty Commissioners is proud to present “Concert in the Park\,” a free musi cal celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month featuring the Hector Morales Sa lsa Band on Saturday\, October 16\, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. outdoors a t Union County’s Warinanco Sports Center\, located at 1 Park Drive in Wari nanco Park\, in Roselle.
\nThe first 150 participants will receive a free food voucher for use at the concert.
\nThe free conce rt caps a month of Hispanic Heritage Month activities sponsored by the Com missioner Board\, including the raising of the County’s first-ever Hispani c Heritage flag at the County Courthouse in Elizabeth\, a family movie nig ht double feature at Plainfield High School in Plainfield\, a family fun d ay at Rahway River Park in Rahway\, and a countywide virtual art exhibit.< /p>\n
“The Commissioner Board is proud to support Hispanic Heritage Mont h and encourage people from all walks of life to unite in the enjoyment of cultural events\, in recognition of the leading role of the Hispanic comm unity throughout Union County\,” said Commissioner Board Chairman Alexande r Mirabella.

\nThe First Presbyteria n Church of Cranford will hold one Christmas Eve service at 4:00pm on Dece mber 24\, 2021. The service will be in-person and online on Facebook and Y ouTube. \nFrom earliest times Ch ristians have gathered on the eve of the Paschal/Easter Season to recall t he story of God’s saving work\,from creation through to the death and resu rrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Paschal Vigil marks the end of the emptiness of Lent and Holy Week\, and leads into the celebration of Christ ’s resurrection. The Vigil Liturgy contains four main parts: The lighting of the Paschal Candle\; hearing the great Hebrew stories of the faith\; th e Liturgy of Initiation (Baptismed)\; and Holy Eucharist.
\n\nEASTER SUNRISE SERVICE\, April 17 at 7 a m: The Gospels say that Jesus’ empty tomb was discovered very early in the morning. Join us outside in the spring air as the sun rises\, celebrating the triumph of life over death and light over darkness. Bring a flower fr om your garden and flower the cross on the front lawn. Some will also be p rovided.

Father Andy will offer a children’s address on the Christian origins of Easter egg hunts after which the children will hu nt the grounds for eggs. The choir anthem will be ‘Love’s Redeeming Work i s Done’ and we will all have the opportunity to sing the ‘Hallelujah Choru s’ at the conclusion of the liturgy.
\n\nTRADITIONAL EASTER SERVICE\, April 17 at 10 am: All are invited to Easter at First Presbyterian Church of Cranford ! Children will help brighten the Sanctuary by carrying flowers forward an d placing them on the Chancel (the front of the Sanctuary) during the firs t hymn. “Busy Bags” will be provided to keep little ones busy while sittin g with their parents in the sanctuary. This year\, traditions return and y ou are invited to come forward and join the choir to sing Handel’s “Hallel ujah Chorus” at the end of the service!
