\nHere are examples of especially needed items: Cooking oil\, tu na\, boxed milk\, spices\, salt\, pepper\, tea and coffee\, sugar\, flour\ , crackers\, soup\, cereal\, canned vegetables\, rice (one or two pounds)\ , cake mix\, and frosting\, dish detergent\, soap and paper goods.

\nRoselle Park span>’s annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks show are coming back to the Borough on Thursday\, July 1\, 2021. Gates at Herm Shaw Field (214 West Colfax Avenue) will open to the general public at 5:00 p.m. The celebration will include food vendors\, inflatables\, activities\, and liv e music by the Garden State Groove Band. The evening will conclude at dusk with a brief flag-raising ceremony that will kick off the best fireworks show in Union County. The event and all activities are free and open to th e general public of all ages.

\nJersey Central Art Studio\, with supp
ort from the Cranford Jaycees\, will host the 2021 Great Pumpkin Carve Out
on Saturday\, October 23rd (Saturday\, October 30th rain date. For update
s check www.jcas.org). All the activities will take place at Hanson Park\,
38 Springfield Avenue in Cranford\, NJ. The pumpkin carving contest is a
FREE event and is open to all ages. Individuals ca
n drop off their creatively carved pumpkins from 10 am until 3 pm at Hanso
n Park at 38 Springfield Ave\, Cranford on Saturday\, October 23rd along w
ith a completed registration form (also available on-site).
\nEveryon
e is invited to come to Hanson Park starting at 6 pm-9 pm to stroll along
the pumpkin-lighted garden paths to see the carved pumpkins on display\, e
ach on its own pedestal. Cash awards will be given for funniest\, scariest
\, and most original and will be grouped by ages\; 4-8\, 9-16\, and 17 and
up.
\nIn addition\, a big-screen outdoor showing of a surprise favor
ite movie will start at dark. Bring your blankets! The movie\, stroll\, an
d contest are all free\, and hot cider will be available for purchase.
\nRegistration forms will be available online at www.jcas.org before the
event. At the event’s con
clusion\, all pumpkins can be picked up.

f artists and citizens dedicated to raising awareness of the arts and the
artistic process as well as integrating the arts into the community throug
h education\, events\, and economic development. W
e see art as a vital component of our lives and one that will also enrich
our community.
Join the Cranford Clergy Council at St. Michael’s at 7 pm for the community Thanksgiving service. Rev. Dr. Deborah Brooks\, Pastor of St. Mark A.M.E. Church will be preaching and th e offering will be given to Cranford Family Care.
\n\nTrack Friday is a day of giving back by supporting local charities while burning off some Thanksgiving calories. On Friday\, Novemb er 26th\, Cranford residents are invited to run or walk at the Memorial Fi eld Track and participate in trackside workout sessions from Garden State Athletics and Alluem Yoga.
\nThis year we’ve added the inaugural Wil l DeGregorio Memorial Extra Mile\, a casual one mile run/walk honoring Wil l. A portion of this year’s proceeds will fund scholarships in Will’s name via the Cranford Police Athletic League.

Mus ic lovers in Union County can celebrate the season with the “A Soulful Hol iday Show” free drive-up concert presented by the Union County Commissione r Board\, featuring Terron Brooks and The Company Men at the campus of the Union County Vocational-Technical Schools\, 1776 Raritan Road in Scotch P lains\, at 7 p.m. on Saturday\, Dec. 11. The parking lot will open at 6:00 p.m. the day of the show.
\nThe event is free of charge bu t registration is required online in advance at https://ucnj.org/reserve. Only one registration is needed per car. Due to space limitations\, res ervations will be available on a first-come\, first-served basis.

\nThe First Presbyteria n Church of Cranford will hold one Christmas Eve service at 4:00pm on Dece mber 24\, 2021. The service will be in-person and online on Facebook and Y ouTube. \nFrom earliest times Ch ristians have gathered on the eve of the Paschal/Easter Season to recall t he story of God’s saving work\,from creation through to the death and resu rrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Paschal Vigil marks the end of the emptiness of Lent and Holy Week\, and leads into the celebration of Christ ’s resurrection. The Vigil Liturgy contains four main parts: The lighting of the Paschal Candle\; hearing the great Hebrew stories of the faith\; th e Liturgy of Initiation (Baptismed)\; and Holy Eucharist.
\n\nEASTER SUNRISE SERVICE\, April 17 at 7 a m: The Gospels say that Jesus’ empty tomb was discovered very early in the morning. Join us outside in the spring air as the sun rises\, celebrating the triumph of life over death and light over darkness. Bring a flower fr om your garden and flower the cross on the front lawn. Father Andy will offer a children’s address on the Christian origins of Easter egg hunts after which the children will hu nt the grounds for eggs. The choir anthem will be ‘Love’s Redeeming Work i s Done’ and we will all have the opportunity to sing the ‘Hallelujah Choru s’ at the conclusion of the liturgy.
\n\nTRADITIONAL EASTER SERVICE\, April 17 at 10 am: All are invited to Easter at First Presbyterian Church of Cranford ! Children will help brighten the Sanctuary by carrying flowers forward an d placing them on the Chancel (the front of the Sanctuary) during the firs t hymn. “Busy Bags” will be provided to keep little ones busy while sittin g with their parents in the sanctuary. This year\, traditions return and y ou are invited to come forward and join the choir to sing Handel’s “Hallel ujah Chorus” at the end of the service! \nHere are some sugges tions for Christmas dinner donations: canned ham\, canned pineapple\, cand ied yams\, cranberry sauce\, rice\, applesauce\, juice\, raisins\, bottled gravy\, broth\, oil\, spices\, canned green beans\, corn\, cornbread mix\ , cake mix\, condensed milk\, canned pie filling and crusts\, Christmas co okies and pudding.
\nHardy fresh fruit and vegetables are also very much needed\, such as potatoes\, garlic\, onions\, sweet potatoes\, apples \, pears and oranges.
\nPlace your bags in your trunk\, drive up\, p op your trunk and volunteers will remove them\, no contact needed! Your fo od donations will be delivered to St. Joseph’s Social Services and other l ocal organizations serving people in need.

Registered participants can pick bags up starting at 12:30pm the day of the event at Eastman Clock Plaza.

Join us ou tside in the spring air as the sun rises\, celebrating the triumph of life over death and light over darkness. Bring a flower from your garden and f lower the cross in the front lawn. Some will also be provided.
\n\n \nIt will be an exciting Easter worship ser vice at FPCC! With joyful shouts we say “Christ\, He is risen!” and respon d with “Indeed\, He is risen!” Children will brighten the Sanctuary by car rying flowers forward and placing them on the Chancel (the front of the Sa nctuary). After the children’s message\, “Busy Bags” will keep little ones entertained. Together\, we will celebrate Easter with open Communion (all are welcome to join in!) In a beloved tradition\, you are invited to come forward to sing the “Hallelujah Chorus” with the choir at the end of the service. This service will also be livestreamed to Facebook and YouTube. p>\n\n
Come for worship\, and stay for our Easter Egg Hunt! There will be fun games for families in the Bates Hall gym. In case of inclement weather\, t he Egg Hunt will take place indoors. (Egg Hunt intended for children ages 12 and under)
