The Y also offers individual lessons and can create a class for small groups/pods.
\nYouth spo rts classes include basketball\, sports sampler\, soccer\, t-ball and more . The Tae Kwon Do program for ages 5 years through adult is led by a team of certified ATA instructors under the leadership of Master Instructor Pa mela Gedman.

\n< p style='font-weight: 400\;'>Maybe you just finished cleaning out some clo sets\, or maybe it’s a good excuse to start! Either way\, on Wednesday\, October 19 from 7:30am-2:30pm\, we invite you to drop off clothes\, shoes\ , belts\, handbags\, comforters\, sheets\, curtains\, towels\, bedding\, s tuffed animals\, small plastic toys\, bikes\, scooters and strollers on th e tarp in the parking lot of the Bauer Branch\, 422 East Broad Street in W estfield. (Note: shoes must be bagged separately).\nPlease note: we cannot accept pots and pans\, books\, boar d games\, sports equipment\, electronics\, glass\, furniture\, VCR tapes\, outdoor play sets or appliances.
\nThe A & E Clothing Corp collects American second hand clothing and other items and resells them in the US and to other developing countries.
\nProceeds benefit the Y’s financial assistance progr am which ensures that no one who is experiencing a bona fide financial har dship and lives or works in Westfield\, Cranford\, Garwood or Mountainside is turned away for inability to pay for Y programs or memberships. The m ajority of awards enable participation in the Y’s early learning and schoo l age child care programs.

\n\nThe Westfield Area YMCA invites the com munity to celebrate the holiday season at “Swim with Santa” on Sunday\, De cember 11th at the Main Y Facility located at 220 Clark Street in Westfiel d.
\nCome as a family! Participants choose a 30-minute time slot bet ween 1:15-3:30 pm to swim with Santa and his elves. A parent or guardian m ust be in the pool with children under age 6 or children who can’t swim. Before or after your time in the pool\, enjoy more fun with holiday arts & crafts.
\nRegister online or in person at the Welcome Center. Proce eds benefit the Y’s Annual Support Campaign which ensures that no one who lives or works in Cranford\, Garwood\, Mountainside\, or Westfield and is experiencing a bona fide financial hardship is denied the opportunity to p articipate at the Y.

\nTak e part in the town-wide clean-up of the Rahway River. Volunteers are welco me! The Township is providing garbage bags\, tools\, and disposable gloves \, although volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tools\, gloves\, and a reusable water bottle if they wish.
\nThe meetup and collectio n locations are:
\nVolunteers should work in pairs and dres s appropriately for walking alongside the wooded and muddy areas along the river. Volunteers should also not enter the river at any time while keepi ng a recommended distance of at least eight feet from the river’s edge. Ch ildren should be supervised by an adult at all times. \n\nThe Westfiel d Area YMCA is proud to host Pizza Palooza on Sunday\, October 1 from 12:3 0-2:00pm in the gym at the Main Y\, 220 Clark Street. Tasting and voting will be from 12:30-1:30pm with the first\, second and third place winners announced at 1:45pm.
\nTaste your way thr ough participating Westfield\, Garwood and Mountainside pizzerias and pick your favorite to win … everyone ages 4+ has a vote! As of September 19\, participating pizzerias are Calabria Pizzeria in Cranford\, Rudy’s Italia n Restaurant in Garwood\, and Casa Di Pizza\, Ferraro’s\, Fiamma Wood Fire d Pizza and Outta Hard Pizza in Westfield.
\nA $15 contribution for adults and children ages 4+ benefits the Y’s An nual Support Campaign\, which ensures that no one who is experiencing a bo na fide financial hardship and lives or works in Westfield\, Cranford\, Ga rwood or Mountainside is turned away for inability to pay for Y programs o r memberships.
