Did you know t hat 1 in 5 underserved households are not getting their kids involved in a thletics because of the rising price of sporting equipment? Leveling the P laying Field is nonprofit that collects and redistributes equipment to exp and access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs in under -resourced communities. LPF expanded to a third warehouse location in Phil adelphia during Fall 2021 to ensure that all kids in the Greater Philadelp hia area can get off the sidelines!
\nWe will be collecting on Satur day October 15\, 2022 at the Cranford Community Center 220 Walnut Ave Cran ford NJ from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please drive to the rear of the buildin g an volunteers will unload your vehicle or you can park and drop it off i n the lobby. So clean out your garages and clear the yard of used sporting equipment so that kids who are less fortunate are able to enjoy them! Either way\, on Wednesday\, October 19 from 7:30am-2:30pm\, we invite you to drop off clothes\, shoes\ , belts\, handbags\, comforters\, sheets\, curtains\, towels\, bedding\, s tuffed animals\, small plastic toys\, bikes\, scooters and strollers on th e tarp in the parking lot of the Bauer Branch\, 422 East Broad Street in W estfield. (Note: shoes must be bagged separately).\nPlease note: we cannot accept pots and pans\, books\, boar d games\, sports equipment\, electronics\, glass\, furniture\, VCR tapes\, outdoor play sets or appliances.
\nThe A & E Clothing Corp collects American second hand clothing and other items and resells them in the US and to other developing countries.
\nProceeds benefit the Y’s financial assistance progr am which ensures that no one who is experiencing a bona fide financial har dship and lives or works in Westfield\, Cranford\, Garwood or Mountainside is turned away for inability to pay for Y programs or memberships. The m ajority of awards enable participation in the Y’s early learning and schoo l age child care programs.

\nNew this year is a “Caring and Sharing Fair” inviting local churches and non-profits to share their charitable activities and mission work\, se rvices to the community at-large and social justice projects.
