    The 24th Annual Cranford Rotary Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Echo Lake Country Club, Westfield, NJ. The beneficiaries of this years tournament are the Cranford First Aid Squad, the Cranford Police Athletic League and the Cranford Rotary Scholarship Fund. The annual golf tournament offers an opportunity to enjoy a fun day of golf at one of New Jersey's premier golf venues while supporting worthy causes. The shot gun format offers an opportunity for golfers of any skill level to compete for numerous golf prizes, as well as closest to the pin, longest drive and hole in one contests. Those who do not play golf can support the outing through various levels of sponsorship from a hole sponsor up to the tournament sponsor.     The Friends of the Cranford Public Library are very pleased to welcome back Dr. Diane Cypkin. Dr. Cypkin will tell, through English narration, the story of the Yiddish Theatre, and sing (in Yiddish) many of the memorable songs written and or popularized by greats like Avrom Goldfadn, Boris Thomashefsky, Aaron Lebedev, Molly Picon, the Barry sisters, and more. A Professor of Media, Communication, and Visual Arts at Pace University, Dr. Cypkin has appeared in many Yiddish language musical productions spanning more than two decades. Admission to the program is free and all are welcome.
