Cranford Recreation and Parks Department proudly presents “Science Matters for Kids”, a hands-on enrichment program for kids ages 3–10, covering the wonders of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). The sky is blue! Birds can fly! Tides rise and fall! BUT WHY? So often children are taught what is, but hardly ever taught why. They wonder why, but are discouraged from asking. “Science Matters for Kids” wants to allow them the opportunity to figure out the answers on their own through hands-on discovery! At the end of each lesson, your child will receive materials to continue their exploration and experimentation at home. Classes are held at Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Ave., beginning April 28, 2015 and run every Tuesday for 6 weeks. The cost is $120. There is a 10:15 am or 1:00pm class for ages 3.5 – 6 years and a 3:45pm class for children in grades 1-4. You may register in person at the Cranford Community Center or online through Community Pass. For addition information, contact Cranford Community Center at (908) 709-7283 or Carleen Barra from What Matters for Kids at carleen@WhatMattersForKids.com or (732) 637-WMFK(9635).
