You are invited to Books & Bagels, a book chat program that takes place monthly on Saturday mornings (except in July and August) from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the library's Raddin Room. The format is simple. Just bring a few of your more recent favorite books and tell the other members of the group what you like about them. The books can be new or old, fiction or non-fiction, classic or contemporary. There is no required reading, and you will have the opportunity to learn about books recommended by other group members. Plus, refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Friends of the Cranford Public Library! Registration is NOT required. Attend as many or as few sessions as you like. Come hear professional singers perform Broadway favorites in a special cabaret themed evening. Tickets are $25, which includes dessert and coffee. Proceeds to help support missions of FPC, which include local groups that battle hunger, poverty and homelessness.

Cranford Girl Scout Ambassador Troop 40376 is holding a FALL CLEAN-UP CLOTHING DRIVE on Saturday, Nov 1, from 8am-2pm at Orange Avenue School, Cranford – Front Parking Lot.
We are Collecting: Any Usable Clothing and Accessories, Shoes –but please bag separately; Blankets, Towels, Linens, etc; Bicycles; Toys including stuffed animals. Join us for some Howl-o-ween fun! Come see pups of all sizes dressed up for a Mutt-squerade! Dress your Pup to the ca-nines and compete for prizes awarded by our (local) celebrity judges!
Meet dog vendors from across NJ, including Gourmet dog treats, boarding and grooming, dog-sitting and walking, and waste pickup. Have your pup’s portrait taken with our Pet Photographer or visit our Pet Psychic! Stop by the Ask-a-Vet table for health advice.

Karen Luschar’s background encompasses Broadway, Off-Broadway, national tours, Las Vegas, television, film, commercials, jingles, and even an appearance at the U.S. Capitol. Accompanied by a pianist, Karen's performance will feature many of Judy Garland’s most memorable melodies, including “The Boy Next Door,” “Swanee,“ “Easter Parade,” “A Great Day for the Irish,” “I Love a Piano,” “The Trolley Song,” “But Not For Me,” “Get Happy,” and “Come Rain or Come Shine.” Admission is free and all are welcome. The Westfield Area Y is taking steps to educate and protect children within our community by participating in the “Darkness to Light” program. A “Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training” will be held on Thursday, November 6th.
The training is FREE for adults only and open to Y members and the community. Interested participants should register in advance and in person at the Welcome Center.
