Neighbors-helping-Neighbors is a support group for people who are actively looking for work and/or want to invigorate their job search. This includes those in career transition, recent graduates, laid off workers, unemployed or underemployed professionals, persons re-entering the job market, small business owners struggling for business, and retirees looking for paid or volunteer work. Books & Bagels

You are invited to Books & Bagels, a book chat program that takes place monthly on Saturday mornings (except in July and August) from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the library's Raddin Room. The format is simple. Just bring a few of your more recent favorite books and tell the other members of the group what you like about them. The books can be new or old, fiction or non-fiction, classic or contemporary. There is no required reading, and you will have the opportunity to learn about books recommended by other group members. Plus, refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Friends of the Cranford Public Library! Registration is NOT required. Attend as many or as few sessions as you like. Karen Luschar Presents "Chasing Rainbows: The Songs of Judy Garland"

Karen Luschar’s background encompasses Broadway, Off-Broadway, national tours, Las Vegas, television, film, commercials, jingles, and even an appearance at the U.S. Capitol. Accompanied by a pianist, Karen's performance will feature many of Judy Garland’s most memorable melodies, including “The Boy Next Door,” “Swanee,“ “Easter Parade,” “A Great Day for the Irish,” “I Love a Piano,” “The Trolley Song,” “But Not For Me,” “Get Happy,” and “Come Rain or Come Shine.” Admission is free and all are welcome. Guitarist Joel Perry will perform a selection of blues, jazz, bossa nova, and tunes from the Great American Songbook. Mr. Perry has performed in more than fifteen countries and in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Garden State Arts Center, the Rainbow Room, Windows on the World, the U.S. Department of State tour of West Africa with blues artist Johnny Copeland, and Hong Kong. He has also appeared in many clubs on the East Coast, including Trumpets, the Blue Note, Sounds of Brazil, The 55 Bar, Tramps, and the Famished Frog. Mr. Perry has performed with Papa John Creach, Ruth Brown, Big Joe Turner, Lavern Baker, Joni Mitchell, Rosemary Clooney, Leslie Gore, Eddie Fischer, James Cotton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He has recorded with Johnny Copeland and Stevie Ray Vaughan and has released three CDs of his own, “Rainbow Skylight,” “Perry Airs,” and “Sonata to the Blues.” Admission to the program is free and all are welcome. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Cranford Public Library.
