What a lovely sentiment about Township of Cranford, shared by 365 Cranford Westfield NJ. It's especially appropriate for today, Cranford's birthday!Be still my heart - look what I found in an old Cranford book from 1913...perfectly describes my love for this town! Can this be a permanent fixture in Downtown Cranford ?! ❤️ In the meantime...HAPPY 148th BIRTHDAY CRANFORD!! ... See MoreSee Less

Sparkling crystal stream?🤔

Happy Birthday Cranford, I 💜 you!

The poem is nostalgic, but the green and the shaded streets are disappearing with the apartments. Some of the trees have fallen, but many have been removed as people fear they will fall on their homes while others have been massacred by work crews who, to allow for room for wires, have shaped most of the remaining trees into grotesque Y's.When I moved here nearly 40 years ago our neighborhood streets had canopies of green trees...just gorgeous. As a town we can change our barren neighborhoods by requesting the town to plant free small trees along the strips by the sidewalks. On streets without this grassy strip , homeowners can plant trees on their lawns near the street. They don't have to be huge; threes like dogwoods, cherries, mini maples would be fine...no major cleanup, no fear of falling on houses. There would be better air quality and less flooding as the roots will help absorb rainfall. Let's bring back the GREEN to Cranford! Think GREEN!

Great place to grow up

All so true, and that's why those of us lucky to have raised a family here and still live here are livid about the over-development. This is a look back on the Cranford we all love, not what is reality today. Happy birthday Cranford. We mourn your demise. STOP 750 WALNUT.

A very nice town with some big, old houses, lots of restaurants, and train service.

Too bad they are over developing it with their enormous housing units.

Happy Birthday Cranford! I❤️Cranford

Roads well made

Well, if they keep putting up all those apartments, this will no longer be true

Nice little poem! 148yrs? I can only hope we as a town put together an excellent 150yr celebration. 😁
