The Westfield Area YMCA is proud to host Pizza Palooza on Sunday, October 1 from 12:30-2:00pm in the gym at the Main Y, 220 Clark Street. Tasting and voting will be from 12:30-1:30pm with the first, second and third place winners announced at 1:45pm.
Taste your way through participating Westfield, Garwood and Mountainside pizzerias and pick your favorite to win … everyone ages 4+ has a vote! As of September 19, participating pizzerias are Calabria Pizzeria in Cranford, Rudy’s Italian Restaurant in Garwood, and Casa Di Pizza, Ferraro’s, Fiamma Wood Fired Pizza and Outta Hard Pizza in Westfield.
A $15 contribution for adults and children ages 4+ benefits the Y’s Annual Support Campaign, which ensures that no one who is experiencing a bona fide financial hardship and lives or works in Westfield, Cranford, Garwood or Mountainside is turned away for inability to pay for Y programs or memberships. The majority of awards enable participation in the Y’s early learning, school age and summer day camp programs.
Children ages 3 and under are free. Online registration is available at www.westfieldynj.org or you can call or register in person. Advance registration is strongly recommended. Please contact Kim Koza at (908) 301-9622 x253 or email [email protected] with any questions.
‘Tis the season for spring cleaning! If you have clothing or other accepted items that you’re looking to part with, bring them on Wednesday, October 18 from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm to the parking lot of the Bauer Branch Family YMCA, located at 422 East Broad Street in Westfield. Donations are only accepted at this location during these hours. Accepted items include clothes, shoes (must be bagged separately), belts, handbags, comforters, sheets, curtains, towels, bedding, stuffed animals, small toys (2 ft. or less), bikes, scooters, and strollers.
Please note that we cannot accept pots and pans, books, board games, sports equipment, electronics, glass, furniture, VCR tapes, outdoor play sets, or appliances.
Items are collected by the A & E Clothing Corporation which gathers second-hand clothing and other items and resells them in the US and to other developing countries.
