The Borough of Roselle Park Annual Memorial Day Service
For the first time, the Borough of Roselle Park’s annual Memorial Day Service will be conducted virtually, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on Monday, May 25th, 2020, at 10 a.m.
Residents can view the ceremony live on the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library’s Facebook Page, the Borough’s YouTube Channel, Verizon TV Channel 32, and on Comcast TV Channel 34.
Mayor Sig and the Borough Council have requested that all residents take a moment to honor the men and women who have died serving our country.
The Memorial Day Service features an invocation by the Reverend Manuel Cruz Jr. of the Community United Methodist Church, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance by American Legion Post #60 Vice Commander Michael Connelly. Union County Vocational Technical High School student Angelyse Estevez will then sing the National Anthem.
Mayor Sig will then read the Honor Rolls of those who gave their lives for our country during World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War, and the Afghanistan War. The Roselle Park Fire Department will ring the bell in honor of our fallen veterans.
The service will conclude with Benediction by Reverend Manuel Cruz Jr. of the Community United Methodist Church followed by “God Bless America” sung by Union County Vocational Technical High School Student Angelyse Estevez.
Mayor Sig and the American Legion Post #60 Vice Commander Michael Connelly will place memorial wreaths at the Doughboy monument and the Purple Heart monument at the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library after the service. American Legion Post #60 will perform the traditional gun salute.
Residents visiting the Veterans Memorial Library after the ceremony are asked to respect social distancing guidelines.
