Here2Help Mental Health Coalition Announces 3nd Library Forum: Connecting with your Teen: Difficult Conversations and Setting Boundaries
The Fanwood-Scotch Plains-Westfield Here 2 Help Mental Health Coalition will offer its third library forum aimed at providing useful information regarding common stress and anxiety concerns. The presentation will be held on Wednesday, October 30 from 7:00-8:30pm at the Westfield Memorial Library, 550 East Broad Street.
As a parent or guardian of a teenager, do you struggle to find a way to connect? Are you looking for ways to elicit answers to questions that contain more than one word? Are you trying to find strategies to handle difficult conversations and situations? At Here2Help’s 3rd library event Connecting with your Teen: Difficult Conversations and Setting Boundaries, our experts will identify parenting styles, the advantages and disadvantages of each, and provide empirical research about outcomes. Angelo D’Amico, M.A., LAMFT from High Focus Centers in Cranford will discuss and lead a panel of experts about setting healthy boundaries, detaching with love and empathic support.
Originally organized by the Westfield and Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCAs, the mission of the Here2Help Mental Health Coalition is to improve community awareness and understanding of mental health issues through education, basic skills training and resource information and to help break down barriers that prevent people from seeking care. Coalition members include Caring Contact, High Focus Centers, Imagine, Jewish Family Service, Prevention Links, Resolve Community Counseling Center, representatives of area school districts, municipalities, clergy and other concerned citizens and organizations. Information about Here2Help can be found at www.here2helpnj.org and on their Facebook page, here2helpnj. Both are filled with timely and important mental health-related resource information.
Admission is free, seating is limited. Please register at https://H2Hlibrarymentalhealthforum.eventbrite.com
