Cranford Calendar
The Cranford Clay Courts Club, located on Springfield Avenue in Cranford, is currently accepting new members for the 2019 Season.
The Club offers a long outdoor tennis season, with the courts usually open from April into December in recent years, depending upon weather conditions.
In addition, the club enjoys the distinction of being the only outdoor tennis club in the area with a lighting system for night play on the Club’s well-maintained three har-tru (soft) courts.
The culture and communal aspect of the club offers members the somewhat unique opportunity to “find a game” without needing to bring a partner, particularly on weekday and weekend mornings. There are several social events throughout the season, Monday night open mixed doubles and clinics on Sunday afternoons at 4pm.
Membership in the Cranford Clay Courts Club is open to both resident and
non-residents. For more information in joining or participating in Team Tennis,
visit www.cranfordtennis.com.
Our jewelry expo is Thursday, April 18th from 5-8 PM. There will be light refreshments. All are welcome. Great Mother’s Day gift ideas, bags, clothing, and jewelry.
We follow Jesus’ example of what it means to be a servant through ritual hand washing and see the origins of the Eucharist at the “Last Supper” Jesus shared with his disciples. The altar is stripped as all exit in silence. The “Vigil” is kept through the night following the service. All are welcome!
Stations of the Cross is a series of images and related prayers covering events that Jesus Christ went through on the day of his crucifixion on Mount Calvary. Stations helps Christians make a spiritual connection to the suffering Christ endured on his Passion. It is typically a path of 14 numbered images arranged around the nave of a church. Worshipers stop at each station in order for specific prayers and reflections.
A day to remember the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for us, so that our sins may be forgiven. Our Tenebrae Service or Service of Darkness is a somber service concluding with a “Strepitus” or loud noise symbolizing the earthquake and agony of creation at the death of Christ. This is Christ’s church, and there is a place for you here.
