The Cranford Jaycees have been hosting a Track Friday event at the Ray White Track since 2016. In light of new considerations for COVID-19, the Jaycees will host a hybrid version of the event that allows us to continue our tradition of gathering at the track while also offering a town-wide virtual option. Cranford residents are invited to participate at the track or by running/walking virtually, anywhere, anytime on November 27th.
The Jaycees have created a special commemorative t-shirt celebrating the 5th Annual Cranford Track Friday. All net proceeds from the sales will support a fund comprised of local charities that have touched the Cranford Community in 2020. The Jaycees have nominated beneficiaries that support COVID-19 Relief, Suicide Prevention and Mental Health, and Pediatric Cancer.
See you at the Ray White Track – or somewhere around town – on November 27th at 11 AM!

For over 70 years the Westfield Area Y Men’s Club has held its annual Christmas Tree Sale at the Elm Street field. All proceeds are donated to local charities and non-profit organizations. The event is run by club members from Westfield, Scotch Plains, Mountainside, and Cranford, along with many volunteers from area organizations and local youth.
The trees will be delivered and the lot set up between November 21st-27th. This is no small feat, as there are approximately three tractor-trailer loads per year!
The Westfield Area Y Men’s Club Annual Christmas Tree Sale has been a community tradition since 1947, with all proceeds benefiting local charities and organizations. This year’s tree selection includes top-quality Fraser Firs and Balsam Firs. This year also features a new hybrid tree called a “Fralsam.” This tree is grown in Vermont and combines the needle longevity of a Fraser with the evergreen smell of a Balsam. Tree varieties and sizes range from 3 foot “tabletop” trees all the way up to 12 footers. Also available are Wreathes, Evergreen Roping, Grave Covers, and Tree Stands.
The lot opens on Saturday, November 28th, and closes the week of December 21, pending the remaining tree count. Lot hours are 9 am-6 pm Saturday and Sunday and 5-9 pm Monday-Friday.
Since its inception, the Y’s Men have raised over $2.5 million for community charitable donations. Some of the many organizations that have benefitted from the money raised include the Westfield United Fund, Contact Caring, Children’s Specialized Hospital, Imagine, Resolve Community Counseling, Scotch Plains and Westfield Rescue Squads, Westfield Crew, Master Gardeners Club, and the Westfield Area YMCA.
Along with the advantage of being in the healthy outdoors, the tree sale will observe all 6-foot social distancing and mask-wearing protocols for the duration of the sale.
The tree lot is located on the Elm Street Athletic Field, across from Stop & Shop.
