The Cranford Police Department Community Outreach Unit is announcing its newest initiative called “Meet The Department” with its first session being held on March 31st, 2022.
Much like Coffee with a Cop, the purpose of “Meet The Department” is to host meet-and-greet sessions with the specific divisions, bureaus, and units that make up the Cranford Police Department. As the police department consists of a Patrol Division, Investigative Division, Training Division, Community Support Services Division, Detective Bureau, Traffic Bureau, Juvenile Bureau and Community Outreach Unit, “Meet The Department” will be scheduled throughout the calendar year at the Cranford Community Center so residents may address questions or concerns with specific division commanders, bureau supervisors and their respective teams.
The first “Meet The Department” session will host Chief Ryan Greco, Captain Guy Patterson and Captain Edward Davenport of the Police Department Command Staff.
There is no need to RSVP for this event, and light refreshments will be served.

8:00 – 9:00PM: Paschal Vigil (Triduum III) (in person)
From earliest times Christians have gathered on the eve of the Paschal/Easter Season to recall the story of God’s saving work, from creation through to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Paschal Vigil marks the end of the emptiness of Lent and Holy Week, and leads into the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. The Vigil Liturgy contains four main parts: The lighting of the Paschal Candle; hearing the great Hebrew stories of the faith; the Liturgy of Initiation (Baptismed); and Holy Eucharist.
10 – 11 AM in the church and streamed online
Easter Sunday at Trinity is always a wonderful celebration, don your Sunday best and come and proclaim our risen, conquering Lord! Father Andy will offer a children’s address on the Christian origins of Easter egg hunts after which the children will hunt the grounds for eggs. The choir anthem will be ‘Love’s Redeeming Work is Done’ and we will all have the opportunity to sing the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ at the conclusion of the liturgy.
Cranford PD and Cranford PAL Host Donation Drive 10/15- Level the Playing Field
Did you know that 1 in 5 underserved households are not getting their kids involved in athletics because of the rising price of sporting equipment? Leveling the Playing Field is nonprofit that collects and redistributes equipment to expand access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs in under-resourced communities. LPF expanded to a third warehouse location in Philadelphia during Fall 2021 to ensure that all kids in the Greater Philadelphia area can get off the sidelines!
We will be collecting on Saturday October 15, 2022 at the Cranford Community Center 220 Walnut Ave Cranford NJ from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please drive to the rear of the building an volunteers will unload your vehicle or you can park and drop it off in the lobby. So clean out your garages and clear the yard of used sporting equipment so that kids who are less fortunate are able to enjoy them! To learn more about LPF, please visit www.levelingtheplayingfield.org or contact Detective John Rattigan at [email protected] or Lt. Matthew Nazzaro at [email protected].
LPF accepts new and gently used sporting equipment donations to directly redistribute to kids in need. We appreciate you making sure your donations are still in SAFE, FUNCTIONAL condition. Have a question about the condition of your gear? Contact LPF directly at [email protected].
