The Friends of the Cranford Public Library present an evening of musical history that’s guaranteed to raise a smile! “The Making of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” will follow in the footsteps of the Beatles as they embarked on the creation of their eighth studio LP, ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as the #1 album of all time. Beatles scholar and sixties rock historian Vincent Bruno will explore the genesis of how the songs were written, their influences, recording and production techniques, and the iconic cover art. In addition, he will discuss the legacy of a record that not only defined the counterculture of a generation but whose musical landscape continues to influence contemporary society. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
No registration is required for this free program. The Cranford Community Center is accessible to all.
Beat the heat with the hottest hits of the sixties, seventies and eighties! New Jersey-based three-piece band Rewind will visit the Cranford Community Center and play the songs of great American artists, the British Invasion, and the Summer of Love. Rewind are John Delgiodice (guitar), Ken Cohen (drums) and Rich Loughlin (bass).
In the 2018 summer concert series, the Friends of the Cranford Public Library will highlight local artists and a diverse range of musical styles. The national Summer Reading Program theme this year is “Libraries Rock.”

Have you wasted time looking for important documents? Do you know how long you should hang onto old receipts and tax forms? Are you overwhelmed by all the paper that comes home with your kids from school? Don’t panic: staying organized throughout the year doesn’t need to be a hassle!
Professional organizer Linda Anders, proprietor of COC Enterprises LLC and member of the National Association of Professional Organizers, will talk about how to deal with clutter around the home, in a program that will help you eliminate “paper piles” and find unused space.
