Free performance of the renowned play, The Colored Museum, on Friday, October 18th beginning at 8:00 p.m. at The Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway.
The Colored Museum was written in 1986 by George C. Wolfe. It provides a window into the struggles and resilience of African Americans through 11 vignettes, each focusing on a different “exhibit” bringing forth themes of racism, stereotypes, and African American cultural identity, enabling the audience to reexamine the history of African Americans.

On Monday, February 10th, at noon the Freeholder Board will recognize the 400th anniversary of the transatlantic slave trade and its reverberations in our lives today with a free educational “Lunch and Learn” event. This event will take place in the Freeholder meeting room on the 6th floor in the Union County administration building in Elizabeth. Then on Sunday morning, the Sweet n’ Fancy Emporium is offering a treats class and it wraps up Sunday afternoon with the Cranford Theater showing Troop Beverly Hills followed by female business owners taking your questions.
