Calvary Lutheran Church's Christmas Eve Services @ Calvary Lutheran Church
Please join us at Calvary Lutheran Church (108 Eastman Street in Cranford) to celebrate the birth of the Christ child, with two different worship opportunities on Christmas Eve. Services will be held in person and live streamed on Calvary’s YouTube Channel (calvarycranford NJ).

Our Family Service begins at 5pm, featuring our Sunday School students telling the Christmas Story through the Bible lessons and leading the congregation in traditional carols. The service includes Holy Communion and is about an hour in length.

Our Christmas Candlelight Service begins at 9pm, celebrating the birth of Jesus with joyful choral and instrumental music, as well as Holy Communion and also lasting about an hour.

ALL ARE WELCOME!!  For the health and safety of all, we practice social distancing and respectfully request masks.  We look forward to having you join us to celebrate the birth of the Son of God, born “to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:79)

We also offer Sunday School at 9:00am and worship services every Sunday at 10:15am in person and live streamed.  No matter who you are or where you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here.  For more information about our congregation, call our office at 908-276-2418 or go to calvarycranford.com.

8:00 – 9:00PM: Paschal Vigil (Triduum III) (in person)

From earliest times Christians have gathered on the eve of the Paschal/Easter Season to recall the story of God’s saving work, from creation through to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Paschal Vigil marks the end of the emptiness of Lent and Holy Week, and leads into the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. The Vigil Liturgy contains four main parts: The lighting of the Paschal Candle; hearing the great Hebrew stories of the faith; the Liturgy of Initiation (Baptismed); and Holy Eucharist.
