Cranford Calendar
I will be competing in the NY Giants Snow Bowl, a flag football tournament at MetLife Stadium that raises money to benefit Special Olympics NJ.
My team, Luke’s Warriors, is playing in honor of Luke Brown, a courageous Cranford kid whose family we share a special bond with. Myself and more than 30 other local dads have been practicing every Sunday morning ‘on the frozen tundra’ of my old high school field in preparation for my first Snow Bowl on Saturday, March 16th.
Please help support Special Olympics New Jersey by making a donation.
Thanks so much! Your contribution, big or small, helps 25,000 athletes throughout the state reach their goals.
Special Olympics NJ came to Cranford High School to film one of our practices with the other local team. WARNING: It’s awesome and heart-warming.
The Cranford Clay Courts Club, located on Springfield Avenue in Cranford, is currently accepting new members for the 2019 Season.
The Club offers a long outdoor tennis season, with the courts usually open from April into December in recent years, depending upon weather conditions.
In addition, the club enjoys the distinction of being the only outdoor tennis club in the area with a lighting system for night play on the Club’s well-maintained three har-tru (soft) courts.
The culture and communal aspect of the club offers members the somewhat unique opportunity to “find a game” without needing to bring a partner, particularly on weekday and weekend mornings. There are several social events throughout the season, Monday night open mixed doubles and clinics on Sunday afternoons at 4pm.
Membership in the Cranford Clay Courts Club is open to both resident and
non-residents. For more information in joining or participating in Team Tennis,

5K RUN • WALK • ROLL • VOLUNTEER • DONATE • SPONSOR | April 28
Greta’s Run is the principal fundraiser for Greta’s Run Foundation, a volunteer-led, granting-making 501(c)3 nonprofit.
Greta’s Run is organized in memory of Greta Schoenemann, a Westfield High School freshman who died from injuries sustained on the first anniversary of 9/11 when a tree fell on her during lunch. Her childhood friends, Jayne Ruotolo and Ben Nanna, founded Greta’s Run in 2013, to continue the work Greta was already doing. In honor of Greta’s sister Elise, who has cerebral palsy, all proceeds benefit people with special & adaptive needs.
“The Westfield Public Schools join with the community in upholding the values of kindness and compassion that have become Greta’s legacy. The students, athletes and staff look forward to helping make Greta’s Run a success.”
